Japan grateful to Russia for list of its internees who died in Siberia

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Japan is grateful for Russia for the list of its internees who died in Siberia, Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura told a Monday press conference in comments on the negotiations with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

"Mr. Lavrov has supplied me with additional lists of Japanese internees who died in Siberia. I think this is a confirmation of Russia's serious attitude to the problem," he said.

Komura said they also discussed the disposal of decommissioned nuclear-powered submarines of the Russian Pacific Fleet.

"We welcome the declaration that the decommissioned submarines will be dismantled and disposed by 2010," he said.
