MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 500 companies will showcase their products at an exhibit of 21st century hi-tech achievements in Moscow in late April.

"About 500 companies from 30 Russian regions, and from Ukraine and Belarus will participate," Georgy Yegorov, the general director of the exhibit, told the press on Monday.

"We did not want to invite too many major companies, and we put the stake on small and medium businesses," he said.

The 9th international exhibit of 21st century hi-tech achievements will unfold at Expocenter from April 22 to 25 under the patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce.

Products will be demonstrated by Russian and foreign companies manufacturing science-intensive products, as well as state research centers, universities, academies, "naukograd's" - Russian towns with a high concentration of research and development facilities, and finance companies. Combined stands will be displayed by the Defense Ministry, the Rosatom atomic energy agency, Rosprom federal industry agency, the Moscow Region Industry Ministry, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Rosoboronexport state arms trader.

Energy-2008, Nanotechnology-2008 and 21st Century Neo-Geography shows will be held as part of the exhibit.

A Russian-American symposium will be held on the potential of scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, and a Russia-NATO roundtable conference will be conducted on the experience in and problems of reorganizing defense-industry enterprises and organizations in Russia and NATO countries.
