MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Federal Customs Service has set up an inspection commission within its internal security department to assess the blueprints of any decisions and regulations to rule out collusion between customs officers and regional offices of the internal security department, the service told Interfax.
The commission has been set up under an order signed by Federal Customs Service chief Andrei Belyaninov on April 1, which stipulates that blueprints of any decisions and regulations issued by the Federal Customs Service or its regional departments must be cleared with the internal security department.
"Most of these documents were cleared with the internal security department earlier, but this was not always done. This order expands the list of documents subject to clearance and stipulates that they must always be cleared with the internal security department. This is another step to combat corruption in the customs agencies," Federal Customs Service spokesperson Natalya Semikina said.
