MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Continental shelf research is a real testing site for practicing all forms of public-private partnership, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said.
"Intercontinental shelf research is a large-scale and multi-aspect scientific problem that requires a concentration of the latest advanced technologies, innovative ideas and solutions," Ivanov said at a meeting of the Russian government's Marine Collegium in Moscow on Friday.
"This is a real testing site for practicing all forms of public-private partnership, various types of investing," he said.
At the same time, this is a strong stimulus for developing national industry, especially shipbuilding, and for recreating the system of training highly qualified engineers and workers, Ivanov said.
The three issues on today's agenda of the Marine Collegium - the substantiation of the outer limits of the continental shelf, marine checkpoints optimization and diving training enhancement - have a direct impact on the Russia's maritime progress, he said.
