TBILISI. April 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Statements by President of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia Sergei Bagapsh resulted from recent Russia's moves to establish legal relations with the breakaway republics, Georgian Foreign Minister David Bakradze said on Friday, in comments on Bagapsh's statements that Abkhazia will take reciprocal actions if Georgia does not withdraw its troops, currently being deployed in the Zugdidi district and the upper Kodori gorge.
"Separatist regimes allow themselves to threaten the population of the Gali district of Abkhazia and Upper Abkhazia, because they feel Russia's support," Bakradze said.
"I state with due categoricalness and responsibility that Georgia will prevent the creation of threats to the populations of these regions and will take every required measure," the minister said.
