Kazakh, Russian customs to exercise joint control over state border

ASTANA. April 18 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Russia's customs services signed an agreement in Astana on Friday, to cooperate in controlling the flows of people, commodities and means of transportation across the Kazakh-Russian border, and negotiated a list of border checkpoints.

On the Russian side the agreement was signed by Federal Customs Service head Andrei Belyaninov and the Federal Security Service's official envoy Umarpasha Khanaliyev, and on the Kazakh side by the head of the Finance Ministry's Customs Control Committee Kozy-Korpesh Karbuzov and Deputy Director of the National Security Committee's Border Service Kenesbek Budeneyev.
