Russian delegation to mull prevention of sea, air incidents in Japan

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian and Japanese officials will discuss the implementation of the agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea outside territorial waters and the air space above them in Tokyo on April 21-25, assistant to Russian Navy Commander Igor Dygalo told Interfax on Friday.

"Deputy Chief of the Navy Staff Rear Adm. Vladimir Avdoshin will lead the Russian delegation. Advisor of the Japanese Foreign Ministry European department Keiichi Katakami will head the Japanese side at the talks," he said.

Dygalo said that the talks are meant to guarantee a higher standard of safety for the seafaring of warships and the flights of Russian and Japanese aircraft outside territorial waters and in the air space above them.
