MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The flight of a Georgian unmanned reconnaissance plane over Abkhazia was a breach of UN Security Council resolutions, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The flight of an unmanned reconnaissance plane, which can also be used to adjust fire, violates both the Moscow agreement on the ceasefire and the separation of forces of May 14, 1994, and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council concerning the mandate of the UN Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG)," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Moscow agreement stipulates that no armed forces can exist in the security zone, while UN Security Council Resolution 1808 stipulates that the parties should ensure that no unauthorized military actions take place in the security zone, the statement says.
