MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Power Unit N1 at the Smolensk nuclear power plant is to undergo a 16-day routine maintenance procedure, Rosenergoatom said in a press release.
Maintenance operations will be carried out on the reactors, the turbine, the electrical and chemical equipment, and automated control systems, and they will include a technical examination of the equipment and pipelines.
Power units N2 and N3 remain in operation at the Smolensk NPP.
The background radiation at the Smolensk NPP and the adjacent territory is in conformity with the average natural level.
