North Korea loyal to denuclearization commitments – minister

BEIJING. April 28 (Interfax) - North Korea is ready to fulfill the denuclearization commitments it assumed at the six-nation negotiations, Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun said. The country's Foreign Ministry posted his statement on its website on Monday.

"The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is the goal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. North Korea is ready to promote the fulfillment of commitments by all the parties to the negotiations, including itself," the minister told his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.

Pak said that Pyongyang wishes to develop cooperation with China and lauded the Chinese's role in the six-nation negotiations.

"The soonest completion of the second phase of the settlement process and the continuation of the six-nation negotiations will serve the interests of all sides and the international community," Yang said.
