Peacekeeping contingent in Abkhazia reinforced to prevent new bloodshed – Russian FM

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia is increasing the number of its peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone in order to prevent a new bloodshed, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Measures to reinforce CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces were taken solely to thwart any possibility of new bloodshed in the South Caucasus and to neutralize attempts to reduce prospects for peaceful political resolution of the Georgina-Abkhaz conflict to zero," the statement says.
