Handmade bomb planted by illegal armed unit found on Stavropol territory

STAVROPOL. May 5 (Interfax) - A handmade bomb was found in the Neftekumsk district of Russia's Stavropol territory in the course of an investigation of a criminal case against an illegal armed unit member, who was seized this April, a district police source told Interfax.

He said the bomb stuffed with sharp pieces of metal was found in a forest near the town of Kayasula.

"Experts are examining the bomb," the source said.

He said that the bomb was planted by an illegal armed unit, which included the militant arrested in the Astrakhan region in April.

The 51-year-old resident of the Neftekumsk district was seized in an operation of the Stavropol territorial organized crime department.
