MAKHACHKALA. May 7 (Interfax-AVN) - A large amount of ammunition, weapons, and weapon-manufacturing equipment were seized during a search at a house belonging to a Makhachkala resident who was earlier detained on suspicion of storing and manufacturing weapons.
During a search in a cubicle on a staircase landing in the apartment block where the suspect lives, operatives found a 7.62-mm Kalashnikov assault rifle, five improvised pistols, two barrels for a small-bore rifle, nine magazines for Kalashnikovs, a zinc box with 1,080 cartridges of 7.62-mm caliber, 390 cartridges of 5.45-mm caliber, 240 cartridges of 5.45-mm caliber with tracer bullets, 100 foreign-made cartridges of 9-mm caliber, 528 cartridges of 5.6-mm caliber, a milling machine, a drilling machine, and a metal blackening device, the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Dagestan told Interfax on Wednesday.
"The investigative division of the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Dagestan has collected the necessary documents, and the opening of a criminal case on charges of illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of weapons and illegal manufacturing of weapons and ammunition is under consideration," it said.
