Preparations for production of dual-purpose Yak-130s to be over by yearend

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Irkutsk aircraft plant is completing final preparations for the Serial production of Yakovlev Yak-130 new-generation combat and training aircraft, a source in the Russian defense-industry complex told Interfax-AVN.

"Assembly kits are being installed in Irkutsk to make fuselages. Technological preparations for the production of Yak-130s are expected to be completed by the end of the year," the source said.

The Irkut Corporation and the Sokol aircraft construction enterprise, based in Nizhny Novgorod, are laying the technological groundwork for early production of Yak-130 aircraft.

The Yak-130 is a dual-purpose plane intended for regular and advanced training of bomber pilots, and for combat use in limited armed conflicts and anti-terror operations.
