S. Ossetia blames Georgian special services in abduction of Russian citizen

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax-AVN) - A Russian citizen has been reportedly kidnapped by Georgian special services in Tskhinvali.

"Valery Tadtayev, a Russian citizen aged 32, who arrived in South Ossetia's capital from Vladikavkaz, was kidnapped last night by Georgian special services. Valery permanently resides in North Ossetia - Alania and was in Tskhinvali to see his relatives," the South Ossetian government said on its official web site.

Tadtayev walked out of the house for a smoke early on June 30, and he has not been seen since then, according to the S.Ossetian authorities.

"Valery's alarmed relatives remained unaware of his whereabouts until Valery himself called from a detention facility in Tbilisi and said that he was in custody and that Georgian law enforcement bodies had accused him of crossing the border illegally," the South Ossetian government said.

"No more information is available about the victim of Georgia's outrageous actions," it said.
