Russian Army commission to check peacekeepers in Transdniestria

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax-AVN) - An Army commission is to inspect the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Transdniestria, Col. Igor Konashenkov, the Russian Army spokesman, told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

"The goal of the inspection is to check the organization of service of the Joint Peacekeeping Force in Transdniestria," he said, adding that the commission will analyze the lessons learnt of peacekeepers' combat training, and will issue recommendations with respect to the service safety.

The commission to be headed by Army commander LTG Valery Yevnevich will stay in Transdniestria until July 9.
