Russia, Belarus to launch joint program on military microelectronics

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian government has approved of the suggestion by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Belarus to launch the development of a joint program on the production of integral microchips and solid-state digital devices for military and dual applications.

The resolution to that effect was published on the government's official website.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is to submit draft program on military electronics development to the Council of Ministers of the Union State within a month. The Ministry is likely to be nominated the state client of the program and will supervise coordination efforts.
