KYIV. July 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Sevastopol authorities reacted angrily to a live fire display during celebrations of Russian Navy Day on Sunday.
"I warned the Black Sea Fleet commander, Alexander Kletskov, that fire displays are banned, even if blanks are used. The commander was informed during the celebrations that he had failed to abide by the government resolution," Sevastopol Mayor Serhiy Kunytsyn told the press after a naval festival on the occasion of Russian Navy Day.
This problem will be referred to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and Russian Defense Ministry, he said.
Kletskov claimed, in turn, that Ukraine had not restricted the fire display in any way. "We have fulfilled the Cabinet resolution within the limits it defined," he said.
