SUKHUMI. July 28 (Interfax-AVN) - A meeting of experts addressing the settlement of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict could be held in Berlin in late August, said Abkhaz President Sergei Bagapsh.
"I think a meeting at the level of experts on the settlement of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict could take place in Berlin in late August. We believe there is no need to hasten this meeting," Bagapsh told Interfax following negotiations with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza on Friday.
"We also insist that only two issues can be discussed at this meeting, namely, the withdrawal of Georgian troops from the upper part of the Kodori Gorge and the drafting of an agreement on the non-resumption of armed actions," he said.
"I would like to repeat once again that, without the resolution of these two problems, no other negotiations on settling the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict are possible," he said.
