MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Barsukov (Kumarin) case of the acquisition of real estate in St. Petersburg through corporate raiding has been transferred to the Vasilyevsky Ostrov District Court, spokesman of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Monday.
"The Investigation Committee continues the inquiry into the criminal case of the Barsukov (Kumarin) group, which has taken control over a dozen of real estate sites in St. Petersburg by fraud," he said.
The charges were brought against V. Barsukov (Kumarin) and another seven citizens, among them V. Dronov, O. Kumishche, D. Malyshev, A. Starostin, P. Tsyganok, V. Ostashko and A. Baskakov.
"According to detectives, Barsukov (Kumarin) formed a criminal group and seized the Petersburg Corner restaurant of Pushkinskaya Ltd. and a site belonging to Magazin Smolenensky Ltd. The acquisition of the sites through corporate raiding was later legalized," Markin said.
