MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian military is preparing four helicopters for the deployment of the Russian helicopter group in Chad, said Air Force Commander-in-chief Alexander Zelin.
"The process of deploying the Russian helicopter group in Chad is in full swing," Zelin told journalists at a briefing on Tuesday.
"Four helicopters are being prepared, including in line with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards, a list of materials, supplies and equipment has been determined, applications for provision of equipment, military gear, materials and food required to equip the group have been prepared and submitted," the commander-in-chief said.
"Legal regulations have been prepared concerning the shipment for the Russian troops, and a permission for reconnaissance in Chad has been received from the Chief of General Staff," he said.
"The group will begin its mission in Chad in due course," Zelin said.
