TBILISI. Aug 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Dialog can continue in the Tkhinvali district of South Ossetia only after peace has been restored on the whole territory and separatist activity has been halted, Georgian Prime Minister Vladimir Gurgenidze told reporters.
"Until such a time, the operation to ensure the safety of the local civilian population will continue. If an operation to halt separatist action in Tkhinvali or another settlement is needed in order to achieve this, then these actions will be carried out," Gurgenidze said.
He said the Georgian government was currently holding consultations with Russia.
