Abkhazia, South Ossetia to appeal to world for recognition of independence (Part 2)

SUKHUMI/TSKHINVALI. Aug 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The presidents of breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Sergei Bagapsh and Eduard Kokoity during a Monday telephone conversation agreed to appeal to the international community in the nearest future for the recognition of the independence of their republics.

"How much more Ossetian blood should be shed for our republics to be recognized? It was genocide," Kokoity said talking to Bagapsh.

In his turn Bagapsh told Kokoity about "the military measures Abkhazia is adopting in response to Georgia's aggression against South Ossetia."

He also told Kokoity that Abkhazia is ready to accept any number of refugees and accommodate them at its health resorts.
