TSKHINVALI. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia has handed over eight citizens to South Ossetia, after they were displaced by force during the fighting, David Sanakoyev, South Ossetia's presidential human rights commissioner, told Interfax on Friday.
"The transfer took place in the afternoon on Thursday," Sanakoyev said.
"I see this as a good sign. The negotiating process will continue," he said.
Sanakoyev confirmed reports that Georgian servicemen had captured 27 residents of South Ossetia and moved them into Georgia.
