S. Ossetia: “saboteur and terrorist groups” fire on villages

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The South Ossetian Interior Ministry said on Saturday that villages in two of South Ossetia's districts had come under gunfire from "saboteur and terrorist groups" allegedly organized by "Georgian special services."

"The law enforcement agencies of the Republic of South Ossetia possess information that Georgian special services have organized saboteur and terrorist groups in order to put psychological pressure on the South Ossetian population and commit terrorist acts on the territory of the republic. There already exists evidence supporting this information. There have been recorded instances in Leningori and Znauri districts of the Republic of South Ossetia of gunfire against villages and killing of livestock," the ministry said in a press release posted on the website of the South Ossetian Information and Press Committee.
