TBILISI. Sept 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has issued a decree to postpone by-elections to the Georgian parliament and elections to the Supreme Council of Ajaria, which were earlier scheduled for October 4, to November 3.
The president made this decision because the martial law that was imposed in Georgia in August and was lifted earlier this week made it impossible for political parties and groups to conduct their election campaigns, the Georgian State Chancellery told Interfax on Saturday.
