TSKHINVALI. Sept 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Thursday explosion in Tskhinvali killed a 13-year-old boy, a source at the South Ossetian Interior Ministry told Interfax.
He said the explosion occurred on the southern outskirts of the city bordering on the Georgian village of Nikozi.
"Atsamaz Dzagoyev born in 1995 found a pack at about 3:00 p.m. Moscow time. He picked it up and the explosion occurred. The teenager was killed," he said.
Forensic experts are working at the explosion scene and the bomb is being identified.
Irina Gagloyeva, an official representative of the South Ossetian government, confirmed the teenager's death.
"Atsamaz Dzagoyev born in 1995 found munitions at 2:45 p.m. Moscow time as he was herding cattle near the village of Gujabaur," she told Interfax.
She explained the explosion with careless handling of the munitions.
Another two unidentified bombs went off after the first explosion, Gagloyeva said.
Representatives of the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office have arrived to the explosion scene.
