Leningrad NPP’s power unit N4 back to full capacity

ST.PETERSBURG. Sept 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LNPP) has re-launched its power unit N4 at full capacity after it was halved late last week due to the shutdown of the N7 turbo generator, the LNPP said on its website on Friday.

The power units are operating within the safety limits and regulations, the plant said. The background radiation on the NPP's industrial site corresponds with the normal levels of natural radiation for this area, it added.

It was reported earlier that the shutdown of the turbo generator was caused by the steam turbine overheating.

The NPP has four 1,000-megawatt power units, each with high power channel reactors. The company is part of the Rosenergoatom group.
