Prosecutors of Russia, S. Ossetia, and Abkhazia sign cooperation agreement

MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Prosecutor General's office signed agreements with the prosecutor general's offices of Abkhazia and South Ossetia on cooperation in crime prevention, legal assistance, and extradition of criminals on Wednesday.

The document was signed by the prosecutor generals Yury Chaika of Russia, Safarbiy Mikanba of Abkhazia, and Taimuraz Khugayev of South Ossetia.

Under this document, the Prosecutor Generals' Offices of Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia will work together to combat crime, including organized crime, terrorism, corruption, illegal trading of weapons and psychotropic substances, crimes in the sphere of economics and IT, and also other crimes which pose a danger to society.

The parties have also agreed to work together on issues relating to the extradition of criminals and legal assistance on criminal cases.
