Russian military deny that Russian drone fell in Georgia

TSKHINVALI. Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - A Russian military official refused to confirm a claim by a Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman that a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle had crashed within the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone.

"I do not confirm this information," Lt. Col. Vitaly Manushko, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone, told Interfax on Wednesday.

Manushko so commented on a statement by Georgian Interior Minister spokesman Shota Utiashvili claiming that a Russian UAV had crashed near the village of Odisi in the Akhalgori district at about 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday.

"The Russian drone probably crashed because of a mechanical fault. At least this happened without our involvement," Utiashvili said.
