Twenty-five Russian defense enterprises to be represented in Greek expo - Rosoboronexport

MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Twenty-five Russian defense enterprises will be represented at the international weapons exhibit Defendory International 2008 held in Athens, Greece on October 7-10, said Rosoboronexport official Nikolai Dimidyuk.

These companies include "Almaz Antei, KBP, Splav, and other enterprises," said Dimidyuk.

Russia has taken part in these exhibits since 1992, Dimidyuk said. Russia had 15 exhibits last year and its showroom area was 300 square meters, he added.

"This year, our participation has expanded. Twenty-five Russian enterprises will be represented at the exhibit, and the showroom area will be expanded to 600 square meters," said Dimidyuk.

Among the exhibits will be a modernized BMP-3M combat vehicle. The Almaz-Antei concern will present the C-400 missile system and other missile defense systems.

Among the Russian exhibits will be marine, airborne, and ground weapons, Dimidyuk said.

Rosoboronexport intends to use aggressive marketing methods to promote Russian weapons on the international market, Dimidyuk said.
