Russia, Kazakhstan to hold joint drills in 2008

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution on a joint military exercise with Kazakhstan in 2008.

"The Center-2008 command-post exercise in the Volga-Urals Military District with the participation of Kazakh military units will be held in 2008 in line with the agreement on the status of forming forces and means of the collective security system dated October 11, 2000," a document posted on the Russian presidential website reads.

The document allows the temporary delivery and withdrawal of Kazakh arms, military equipment, military and other property that will be used during the exercise to and from the Russian territory without licenses.

The government was instructed to secure the implementation of the resolution.
