MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The EU mission in Georgia took over control over security in Georgian areas adjacent to South Ossetia and Abkhazia on October 9, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Thus, the European Union's monitoring mission in Georgia took over control over security in the Georgian regions adjacent to South Ossetia and Abkhazia starting from October 9, that is, today," Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said at a press conference in Moscow.
