Moscow concerned over plans to tighten control over Black Sea Fleet

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Foreign Ministry is concerned over media reports claiming alleged plans to tighten control over the Russian Black Sea Fleet and to organize provocative acts in the Crimea.

"We are profoundly concerned [over these reports]. We ask the Ukrainian side to fully understand its responsibility and the possible catastrophic consequences of such provocative acts for Russia-Ukraine relations," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko told a press briefing in Moscow on Thursday.

"Alarmingly, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not refuted the aforesaid reports officially," he said.
