Ukraine was shipping weapons to Georgia even on August 8 - Rogozin

BRUSSELS. Oct 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Permanent Representative at NATO Dmitry Rogozin has said he possesses information indicating that Ukraine was shipping weapons to Georgia up to August 8, when Tbilisi launched a massive barrage on Tskhinvali.

"The analysis of Ukraine's shipments of weapons to Georgia shows that these weapons were sold to Tbilisi even on August 8, that is, at the moment when the whole world was witnessing the Georgian army tearing apart the defenseless town of Tskhinvali," Rogozin told Interfax on Thursday.

He shared this information with the participants in a session of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council at the ambassadorial level in Brussels on Wednesday, Rogozin said.

"We have the full list with the dates showing what cargos Ukraine shipped, when and through what channels, and the latest shipments for Georgia are dated August 8. This military cargo was shipped for transportation by sea," he said.

Rogozin suggested that not only he but also many others in Brussels are convinced that "Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko himself provoked a parliamentary crisis and decided to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada only because he is afraid of conclusions by a parliamentary commission investigating Ukraine's sales of weapons abroad."
