Czech Republic proposes delivery of its training jets to Kazakhstan

ASTANA. Oct 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Czech Republic is ready to deliver combat-training jets to the Kazakh Armed Forces and to update T-72 tanks.

"Czech companies came up with the initiative to comprehensively update T-72 tanks and deliver combat-training aircraft to Kazakhstan. The Kazakh side will soon look into these proposals," the Kazakh Defense Ministry said in a statement published on Tuesday.

The proposal was voiced by Czech Ambassador to Kazakhstan Bedrich Kopecky at a meeting with Kazakh Defense Minister Danial Akhmetov, the statement reads.

The possibility to teach Kazakh soldiers IT and communications at Czech higher education facilities was discussed at the meeting as well. "The training of experts in this area is extremely important for the Kazakh Armed Forces, particularly when automatic troop control systems are implemented," the statement reads.
