TBILISI. Oct 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili accepted Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze's resignation and nominated Grigol Mgaloblishvili, who had worked as Ambassador to Turkey, as a candidate for this post, Saakashvili announced at a meeting with the parliamentary majority on Monday.
"We made this decision together with Lado Gurgenidze, the decision that he will chair the new financial commission in charge of controlling the financial crisis and stabilizing the financial situation in Georgia," Saakashvili said.
Grigol Mgaloblishvili's nomination for the post of prime minister has been submitted for approval to the parliament, the president added.
