Delivery of Il-112B engines to begin in Jan 2010

MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The St. Petersburg-based Klimov company will implement its program of creating the TV7-117ST engine in line with its schedule.

"The first delivery of the new TV7-117ST aircraft engines for the light Ilyushin Il-112B transport aircraft developed by the Ilyushin aircraft complex is slated for January 2010," a source with the Russian defense industry told Interfax-AVN on Friday.

Now the engine is prepared for indoor tests, which will show whether the engine can work for around 1,400 hours. The state tests of the engine will begin next year.

"The Stupino enterprise is working on a new propeller for the Il-112B, which will be ready by the middle of next year," he said, noting that all TV7-117ST are equipped with reverse thrust.

The TV7-117ST is developed in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry. This engine has 300 horsepower in the take-off mode compared to 2,500 horsepower for the basic engine.
