Pyotr Veliky nuclear powered missile cruiser carries out live firing in Atlantic Ocean

SEVEROMORSK. Nov 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The Pyotr Veliky nuclear powered missile cruiser has carried out live firing exercises in the Atlantic Ocean.

The ship-based live firing drills were part of the crew's combat training plans, the Northern Fleet's spokesperson told Interfax.

The exercise included practicing the use of guns aboard the vessel as a weapon of self-defense and firing against a surface target from the AK-130 and AK-630 gun mounts.

At the end of the exercise, the subordinates of 2nd rank Captain Kirill Krivets, the commander of the Pyotr Veliky cruiser's rocket-artillery combat unit, were rated as "good," Northern Fleet's spokesman 1st rank Captain Igor Babenko said.
