Finnish Defense Forces delegation to visit Leningrad military district

ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A delegation of the Finnish Defense Forces is to visit the base of a polar stand-by unit of the Leningrad military district.

"Servicemen of the Uusimaa regiment will visit soldiers of the 200th Motorized Rifle Brigade from Kamenka in the Leningrad region in mid-December," aide to the district commander Col. Yury Klyonov told Interfax.

A delegation of the 138th Guard Motorized Rifle Brigade from Kamenka recently paid a visit to the Finnish Defense Forces' Karjala Brigade, he said.

"During the trip, our five servicemen watched tactical maneuvers. Their Finnish colleagues and they also exchange experience of selecting people to serve under contracts and discussed the specifics of personnel combat training," Klyonov said.

During their three-day visit, the delegation led by Commander Col. Alebek Aslambekov had a chance to get an insight into the daily routine of Finnish servicemen.
