MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The next meeting of the heads of the delegations from the countries involved in the six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear issue will be held on December 8, said Alexei Borodavkin, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister.
"All negotiators have already agreed to this date. At any rate, this is what our Chinese friends told us," Borodavkin, who chairs the Russian delegation, told Interfax on Tuesday.
China had suggested that the next meeting be held on December 8 and was awaiting for a reply from all parties concerned, it was reported earlier. Traditionally, these talks are held in Beijing as they are chaired by China.
This meeting will focus primarily on the process of verifying the measures being taken to de-nuclearize the Korean peninsula and the compensation supplies of fuel oil to North Korea, the Russian diplomat said.
"I think in December we will be able to say that we have made a major progress in complying with our supply obligations," Borodavkin said.
The six-party talks are held by Russia, the United States, China, Japan and two Koreas.
