Defense Ministry to close officer jobs in military media

MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax-AVN) - All officers jobs will close in the military media organizations, except for the Red Star newspaper, a source at the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

"All Defense Ministry's newspapers and magazines, as well as the publications of the Armed Forces branches and independent troops, military districts and naval fleets should have all civilian staff by May 1. The Voyeninform agency should be manned with civilian specialists by the same date," the source said.

The Russian Defense Ministry's Red Star central newspaper, which will keep around 20 officer jobs, will be an exception.

To date, Russian military media organizations include ten magazines and 16 newspapers of the branches and independent troops, military districts and naval fleets. Moreover, newspapers are being published in many large formations.
