MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the Moscow machine-building enterprise Salyut on Sunday.
Salyut is one of the largest Russian producers of aviation gas turbine engine and gas turbine energy installations. It was founded in 1912.
The plant produces products for the national defense industry and energy security.
Salyut's production is expected to go up 2.5 times by 2015, exceeding 30 billion rubles per annum. Its product structure is expected to change considerably; ground products are expected to account for some 40% of the plant's products, aviation products - for some 55%, and the rest will be consumer goods.
