Former police officers, father and son, murdered in Ingushetia

NAZRAN. Jan 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Two former police officers were found dead in their home in the village of Chemulga in Ingushetia Sunday night, Interfax was told at the district police.

"According to early reports, some five or six persons wearing masks and carrying automatic weapons entered the house where the Terkhoyev family lived and shot dead the father and son who had used to be police officers," a police spokesman said.

"They had worked in the territory of Chechnya," he said.

A search for the attackers was launched.

A man was injured in a roadside bomb explosion in the village of Sagopshi in Ingushetia's Malgobek district on Sunday.

The bomb exploded at 8:40 a.m., Moscow time, the republic interior ministry informed Interfax. "A bomb planted at the roadside went off when local resident Beslan Chechoyev was traveling by in his car. The man suffered cerebral concussion. The car was slightly damaged," the ministry said.

The incident is under investigation.

Chechoyev's brother is a law enforcement officer, which could have been a motive for the bombing, ministry officials said.
