Georgia violates cease-fire obligations - Gryzlov

MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia does not fully comply with the Medvedev-Sarkozy plan to settle the situation around South Ossetia and Abkhazia, State Duma Speaker Borys Gryzlov said at a meeting with a PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) delegation led by Lluis Maria de Puig on Sunday evening.

"We see a constant building up of the Georgian military presence in the areas adjacent to South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which does not help preserve stability in the region," Gryzlov said at the meeting.

The delegation consisting of the leaders all five of PACE's political factions was meeting with the representatives of all the Russian State Duma factions, the Duma department for public relations and the media said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Monday.

The actions by the Georgian leadership are leading to border incidents "provoked by the Georgian side," Gryzlov said.
