First manned spaceflight from Vostochny planned by 2018 – Ivanov

MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The first manned spaceflight from the new Russian spaceport Vostochny in the Amur region is due by 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said at the Monday meeting of the Federal Space Agency board.

"We have decided to build the Vostochny spaceport in the Amur region. The first satellite or a cargo spaceship of the International Space Station (ISS) will be launched from Vostochny in 2015. The first manned spaceflight from the new spaceport will take place by 2018," he said.
