MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax-AVN) - A criminal case has been opened against Moscow Military Commissioner Gen. Glushchenko.
The case was opened under the Criminal Code article 159 on fraud including abuse of office, the spokesman of the Investigation Committee of the Prosecutor's Office, Vladimir Markin, told Interfax on Tuesday.
"It has been established that some fake orders were fabricated in 2004, and they said that in September 2001 Glushchenko was sent to the North-Caucasus and participated in a counter-terrorist operation for three days," Markin said.
Later, on the basis of these fake papers, Glushchenko was issued a certificate saying that he was a veteran of a combat action, and he applied to the Moscow Pension Fund seeking a monthly pension, Markin said.
"The investigation will establish whether the general received the pension which the state extends to veterans of combat actions," Markin said.
