NAZRAN. Jan 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Two people were killed and two others were wounded when a clash erupted between servicemen and unidentified individuals at a checkpoint on the Kavkaz federal motorway on the limits of the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya in Ingushetia
The incident occurred in the afternoon on Thursday, when the unidentified assailants opened fire on servicemen, the press service of the federal prosecutor's Investigation Department for Ingushetia informed Interfax.
"One serviceman was killed and two others were wounded. One of the assailants was killed in the return fire," the press service said.
A criminal inquiry has been launched into the incident on charges of attempting to kill law enforcement officials and illegal turnover of weapons and ammunition, the press service said.
