MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will step up preparations for the Moscow Middle East conference, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov received Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi on February 5.
"Saltanov stressed the need for political settlement of the Arab- Israeli conflict on the basis of international law and confirmed Russia's active preparation for the Moscow Middle East conference," the ministry said.
"The sides expressed profound concern about humanitarian aftereffects of the Israeli military operation in Gaza," the ministry said.
