ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - A contract private has opened fire on his fellow servicemen in Chechnya, killing two of them, the headquarters of the combined group of troops in the Northern Caucasus told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The private is believed to have quarreled with his fellow servicemen while drinking alcohol with them and opened fire on them with a Kalashnikov rifle," said the official.
As a result of the incident, two servicemen - a sergeant and a private - were killed and another serviceman was seriously wounded," said the source.
The private who opened fire on his fellow servicemen was from the city of Kyzyl, in the Republic of Tuva.
The crime scene is currently being examined by investigators from the military prosecutor's office.
